The Role
For 12 years we've been collecting and analyzing consumer demand data from the dozens of the world's largest retailers such as Amazon.com and Buy.com. We have built the richest cross section of data about consumer intent, product data, buying behavior, purchase behavior, and customer data in the retail advertising space. We have data on tens of millions of products across millions of transactions driven from billions of online searches. With this data Adlucent invented predictive paid search and has pioneered novel methods to help online customers find the products they want on the Web.
We are looking for a data scientist who is passionate about making online advertising more relevant and helpful. You will collaborate with a team of incredibly talented engineers, analysts and innovative account teams to develop new standards for retail advertising. We believe in turning data into action and you'll be at the forefront of an industry where data drives revenue. At Adlucent you'll be able to turn big data analysis into actions that drive measurable revenue on a daily basis. This isn't a job where you simply analyze data and make recommendations. You'll be turning data into revenue and able to measure your success quickly.

You'll Work On:
- Analyzing billions of data points on consumer intent, online purchases, and customer engagement
- Creating algorithms to predict when an online purchase is likely
- Optimizing existing algorithms and predictive search methodologies
- Uncovering predictors of future buying behavior
- Helping to redefine online retail advertising
Must have:
- PhD preferred in CS, machine learning, statistics, applied mathematics, physics or similar field
- 5+ years experience as a data scientist/analyst working on large datasets
- Expertise in machine learning and other AI techniques
- Experience with the following big data tools and technologies: Hadoop, HBase, MapReduce, Pig, Cassandra, etc.
- Expertise with unsupervised and supervised algorithms
- Expertise with data visualization technologies and statistical software packages
- Comfortable with Java and MySQL
- Must demonstrate ability to learn quickly, find novel solutions to complex problems, and think analytically
- Must have successfully worked with engineering teams in a commercial environment
Nice to have:
- Experience with natural language processing
