Position Summary:
We are seeking a Data Miner to join our talented, dynamic team providing support services to the Department of Defense (DoD). The mission of this specific client is sensitive, and includes performing predictive modeling and analytics on large data sets. The Data Miner will be supporting the analysis of large data sets for essential DoD priorities while working closely with the project manager in driving innovation across the program.

Specific Job Duties:

Responsible for data mining and predictive modeling for this client, including:

• Perform predictive analysis for this client, in coordination with a research scientist and data mining peer
• Work directly with client leaders and subject matter experts to deeply examine the client objectives and relevant background and create analytical solutions to these priorities
• Present analysis to leaders within the Department of Defense regarding analysis

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• 5 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Engineering, Math, Physics, or other relevant field
• Extensive problem solving skills
• Experience building predictive models with algorithms including: linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, CHAID, neural networks, Support Vector Machines, etc. is preferred
• Experience working on advanced analytics projects in a business or government application
• Statistical experience with R is preferred
• Understanding of how predictive analytics fits into the business process and ability to communicate the ROI of analytics to management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple, concurrent activities with short turn-around times with multiple internal and external customers
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Enjoy working in a team environment
• Candidates must have active Secret clearance
• Candidates must be US citizens and will be required to undergo a background investigation in order to be granted access to classified information
