As a Senior Software Engineer at mopals.com, you will be part of a development team that is responsible for the design and development of an intelligent engine that will leverage data mining on massive data to offer a customised experience to social media users. To be a valuable member of our development team the successful candidate will work well with teams or alone, welcome direction or work self-directed to build quality tool. Extensive knowledge of NoSQL database (HBase, Mongo, neo4j, Riak, Redis) would be preferable for this role.
This role is located in our downtown Toronto office.
Main Duties:
- Design, implement and maintain a scalable distributed system to support social media web applications
- Stress testing of back office application
Experience and Skills:
Essential:
- Experience with Data Mining and Machine Learning
- NoSQL database (Hadoop, HBase, HFDS, MongoDB, Redis, etc)
- Working with very large databases
- 5 years of experience working with Java
Desirable:
- Experience with distributed file systems
- Experience building web-based applications
- Amazon Cloud service EC2 and S3
- Linux OS administration experience.
- Knowledge of SQL databases, with a focus on MySQL.
- Knowledge of industry standard methodologies, tools and processes for software development.
- Knowledge of Stress testing methodologies
