Mercury is recruiting a Customer Value Analyst to do just that! The Customer Value Analyst will be a company-wide thought leader on topics related to customer retention, customer attrition, and customer lifetime value. We are looking for an analyst that can see trends and formulate recommendations based on a combination of data mining and business judgment. The candidate should have personal traits such as curiosity, tenacity, and innovative thinking. This position will closely partner with the Customer Retention team in Sales and act as their primary source of business intelligence. The position reports into the Finance function and is located in Durango or Denver, Colorado.

Essential Functions include the following. Others may be assigned.

  • Develop and produce a monthly report on customer retention trends, changes, insights, and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain an ongoing merchant risk scoring model using regression analysis or other statistical predictors of attrition
  • Assist in the design and monitoring of retention improvement initiatives such as A/B testing and iterative trials, working closely with marketing, sales, and customer service
  • Analyze and recommend the best tradeoffs to maximize customer lifetime value even when there is potential for adverse impact on retention
  • Lead customer retention and attrition data mining efforts
  • Gather data requirements and prepare financial models by using various technical tools for data extraction; perform quality assurance testing on data to ensure integrity
  • Works closely with appropriate revenue analysts, data analysts and/or business managers to shape and provide direction to the work streams
  • Gather, organize, and publish information on competitive pricing
  • Partner with external analytic vendor relationships where applicable
Desired Skills & Experience
  • 2-5 years of related experience as a business or financial analyst
  • Must have past coursework and interest in statistics; familiarity with regression models and concepts like Expected Value
  • Familiarity with accounting, finance, and concepts like Net Present Value, Customer Lifetime Value, discount rate, and gross vs. operating vs. net margin
  • Strong experience with Excel and pivot tables
  • Experience developing presentations in Power Point
  • Proficient with technical applications to extrapolate data
  • Experience programming in SQL or willingness and ability to learn
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Math, Finance, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field
  • MBA desirable
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to influence and facilitate decision making to drive results
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
Location could be either in Denver, CO or Durango, CO
