Mott Community College is currently seeking an Institutional Research Analyst and Senior Institutional Research Analyst.

The Institutional Research Analyst is a key staff member within the Office of Institutional Research and serves Mott Community College as a whole. This position is responsible for the completion of external surveys and profiles, the creation, execution, and analysis of recurring and ad-hoc surveys, the completion of accountability reporting at the state and federal levels, the coordination of the student instructor evaluation process, and the completion of ad-hoc data requests. The Institutional Research Analyst will work and collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff from across the College and within the Office of Institutional Research to complete assigned tasks.

The Senior Institutional Research Analyst works in the department of Institutional Research. A substantial part of this position involves the collection and analysis of longitudinal student success, completion, and persistence data as part of college wide student success initiatives. This person plays a lead role in support of such initiatives by providing data and analysis to core teams as requested. This position provides advanced analytical support regarding a broad array of subjects and aspects of MCC and is involved in ongoing data collection, analysis and dissemination of information. This position is responsible for developing and analyzing data which if not done correctly, could result in substantial loss to the institution as related to Federal Accreditation, grants, and other government/private funding as well as enrollment. Coordinates and performs a variety of advanced projects—including the development, analysis, and reporting of institutional data—as a service to the greater College community at the direction of the Director of Institutional Research.

Institutional Research Analyst

  1. Bachelor's degree in social science (sociology, psychology, political science) or a related field.
  2. Over one (1) year of professional experience in survey research, data analysis, or over one (1) year of professional experience and demonstration of applicable course work.
  3. Ability to appropriately use standard Microsoft Office software and tools, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  4. Experience using survey creation software and a demonstrated ability to analyze and appropriately report survey data.
  5. Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively as well as a strong attention to detail.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly written and spoken skills.

Senior Institutional Research Analyst

  1. A Master's Degree in Educational Research, Statistics, Computer Information Systems, Social Science (Political Science, Sociology, Psychology) or a related field, which required focus on advanced analytical techniques or an equivalent focus. Degree must be conferred within six months of hire.
  2. Over three (3) years of professional experience. Experience should include such things as the use of advanced information systems in project management/coordination, data analysis and reporting.
  3. Basic knowledge and understanding of community college academic and/or business operations in order to understand and prioritize tasks.
  4. Ability to appropriately use standard office software and tools, including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  5. Experience using statistical analysis software such as SPSS.
  6. Demonstrated ability to create new processes and procedures where existing methods do not exist, particularly focused on analyzing new external mandates and internal priorities to develop effective and efficient responses.
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and function independently with agility and flexibility.
  8. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a broad variety of constituents, such as faculty, administrators, and public entities.
  9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly written and spoken skills.
  10. Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills, ability to adapt to changing priorities.
