Research Scientist

Job Description
The Integrated Data Systems Department of Siemens Corporate Research has an immediate opening for a research scientist in data mining and machine learning for software applications in the area of renewable and sustainable energy.

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in state of the art machine learning and data mining theories and experienced in applying them to commercial, scientific or industrial applications. Proficiency in distributed computing and stream mining is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Apply state-of-the-art machine learning and data mining methods to real world problems.
• Quick prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation of data analytics software product components.
• Work with customers to understand algorithm requirements.

• Ph.D. or advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline or experience.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in statistical analysis, reasoning and learning.
• Well versed in Java or C\C++ and experienced in software analysis, design and development.
• Proven record in research, innovative thinking, real world problem solving and a hands-on, can-do mentality.
