Senior Analyst, Client Analytical Services

Job Description
Client Analytical Services (CAS) is part of UBS Wealth Management Americas' Strategic Analysis & Business Development unit, which is within the CFO Business Area.

As a CAS Senior Analyst, you consult with internal partners to define, manage and deliver data analytics projects that support business decision making. This includes defining business objectives and analysis needs, sourcing and preparing data, executing analyses, including statistical modeling, and preparing and delivering final reports and presentations. A key area of focus is analytics supporting development of pricing strategies aimed at maximizing long-term revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult internal clients regarding business objectives, analytical approach and deliverables, project planning and cross-organizational responsibilities
• Define data requirements and produce analytical data sets, including development and execution of SAS programs for the extraction and manipulation of data across multiple platforms, including mainframe, server and desktop
• Perform advanced analytics, such as price elasticity analysis and optimization, product affinity modeling, client/advisor behavioral segmentation and others
• Fulfill on occasion simple ad hoc analyses when required due to team capacity constraints
• Prepare and present executive-level presentations summarizing analysis findings, business implications and recommendations, providing actionable insights to business decision makers
• Manage and contribute to multiple, simultaneous projects, working on cross-functional teams in project definition, execution and delivery
• Contribute in CAS knowledge exchange forums to help maximize team productivity and ensure adoption of analytical and technical best practices

• Superior statistical skills, including multivariate analysis, factor analysis, linear/non-linear regression, time series analysis, decision tree, clustering; at least five years experience using SAS statistical applications
• Superior SAS programming skills in the extraction, merging and transformation of large data sets across mainframe, server and desktop environments; at least five years SAS programming experience required
• Experience using relational database platforms such as DB2, Oracle and/or Sybase
• Business analysis skills, with experience in interpreting findings, determining business implications and making actionable recommendations
• Client management and consultative skills, with experience in needs assessment, negotiation and expectations setting
• Oral communications skills, with ability to articulate complex concepts in terms understandable to the layman
• Written communication skills, with experience producing executive-level presentations as well as technical documentation
• Project management skills, with experience in developing, communicating and managing against project plans with defined timelines, activities, and cross-functional responsibilities
• Teaming skills, with experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams
• Coaching skills, with experience supervising professionals on analytics project
• Masters degree or higher in quantitative discipline such as statistics or econometrics
