Subject: KDnuggets Poll: Value of Personal Information

The poll asked a question:

I would give my personal information to a website ...

The votes of 61 respondents were:
if they just ask politely (20) 33%
if offered a $20 coupon (12) 20%
if offered a $100 coupon (8) 13%
if offered a $1000 coupon (8) 13%
never! (13) 21%

Some of the comments were:

It's not about how much they may offer me... It's a question of 'What are they going to do with the information?!!!' (I'm a spam, and unsolicited advertising HATER.)

Usually I offer my personal information to a website or company that I trust, like you people..

might be better to specify what you mean by "personal information"-- annual salary or just email address

I have nothing to hide,

While the number of respondents is not large enough, it indicates, that at least among KDnuggets readers there is less of a concern about registering personal information than among the general public.
