Responsible for initiating and managing all data mining projects and leveraging advanced statistical techniques and tools to customer segmentation, acquisition, cross-selling, relationship management, direct mail sampling and audience targeting, profiling, profitability and other business analyses. Assumes a strong business posture to creating models that can be used to predict best RCI acquisition prospects, classify them into actionable segments for ongoing servicing and future growth opportunities. Build models to provide for greater organizational efficiency through resource allocation to the best customers.

Ability to hands-on, use state-of-the-art Mathematically-based tools to translate hypotheses into database queries and support project efforts, analyze results into consumer and product knowledge to help grow the business. Provide profitability analysis and strategic recommendations for improvements of future acquisition programs, product development and customer targeting. This position requires individuals who can become the RCI resident experts in discovering knowledge and insights in databases, using advanced tools and smart technical know-how to grow the business. We also require a statistician who can communicate analyses, proposals and concepts, orally and in writing in a language that business people can understand.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on customer database marketing, customer segmentation and advanced statistical profiling and modeling experience, including SAS, SAS data step, SAS SQL, SAS Access, MACRO, SAS Connect, SAS IML or SPSS, Logit, CHAID, Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, Hierarchical Bayes, Survival Hazard, Pattern Recognition. With 3+ years working experience with Mainframe and UNIX system. Experience using SAS accessing large Oracle, DB2 database. Experience with visualization tools such, as Silicon Graphics� Mineset,, modeling and segmentation is a plus.
  • Strong work experience in key direct-to-consumer marketing programs, application of statistical techniques, modeling tools, data programming, technical experience in consumer data and customer marketing database technology. Skills in system analysis, project management, data mining, strategic system planning, problem solving and database implementation are pluses.
  • Masters (or higher) in Statistics or equivalent is a must. MBA in Marketing and/or Finance is highly desirable.
  • Superior problem solving and innovative analytical skills with ability to work independently and in team environment. Commitment to creating a learning organization.
  • Initiative, self motivation, good judgment and commitment to taking on assignments of increasing responsibility
