REQUIREMENTS: MA or PhD in statistics, computer science or related field and/or experience performing data mining. Strong customer service focus.

Some text mining experience and understanding of medical issues is a plus. PhD-level candidates will be considered for a more senior position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• A thorough understanding of neural networks, decision trees, and classification techniques
• Knowledge of multivariate statistics
• Background in information retrieval, text analysis, computational linguistics, or feature extraction is a plus
• Working knowledge of MS Office 2000 Pro, Outlook, Windows 2000, and relational databases
• Background in healthcare is a plus
• Project management skills including planning, scheduling, and managing project team
• Able to work within a budget as assigned

• Develop feature extraction system to mine medical information from unstructured text
• Perform statistical analysis of healthcare data for physicians and pharmaceutical companies
• Develop healthcare reports using proprietary and Oracle databases
• Develop system and procedural documentation and related operational procedures
• Update existing documentation when changes occur

• Support clinicians and administrative staff in the day-to-day usage of healthcare data management system
• Modify and create reports for healthcare clinicians and administrative staff
• Interact with team to make recommendations and suggest changes to current processes to improve overall team performance

• Highly motivated, energetic and well organized
• Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks
• Enjoys a high level of activity on a daily basis
