KXEN releases high-powered OLAP tool for MS Excel and signs OEM deal with Addinsoft
IOLAP(tm) puts the power of advanced analytics on your Excel toolbar
San Francisco, 29 April 2002: KXEN, a global analytic software company, and Addinsoft, a leading provider in data analysis and statistical solution for Microsoft Excel, today introduced Intelligent OLAP (IOLAP(tm)), an analytical application embedded into XLSTAT - Addinsoft's core product.
Available as a plug-in for Microsoft Excel, XLSTAT-IOLAP(tm) enables Excel users to sort quickly through all types of data from an Excel spreadsheet and determine the important variables to form the axes of an OLAP cube.
Roger Haddad, CEO, KXEN says: "When you're faced with a huge number of dimensions it is very hard to know exactly which ones are important. With this application you can use Excel and at the push of a button on your toolbar identify the key variables, how relevant each one is and decide which ones you want to put in the cube."
Haddad concludes: "IOLAP* delivers prominent variables to marketers and other business users, enabling them to make informed - rather than assumed - business decisions and predict key data patterns more accurately."
IOLAP* is based on the KXEN Analytic Framework that uses advanced algorithms applying Vapnik's Statistical Learning Theory.
Distribution agreement signed IOLAP(tm) is available immediately as an option of XLSTAT as a result of an OEM agreement signed between KXEN and Addinsoft, XLSTAT's developer.
Haddad said: "XLSTAT is the perfect channel for IOLAP(tm). You can download, install and be analyzing data in a matter of minutes. XLSTAT is already used by more than 10,000 customers in businesses and universities around the world."
Thierry Fahmy, CEO, Addinsoft said: "Embedding KXEN's IOLAP* into XLSTAT offers our customers access to advanced analytics. Without data preparation, our customers can determine which key variables influence the issues being examined. IOLAP* can display cross variable tables between the most significant variables at just a click of a button."
XLSTAT is a leading data analysis and statistical solution for Microsoft Excel. It can be purchased online in both electronic and CD-Rom versions from it's own website and sites like ZDNet and download.com.
