Subject: San Diego, CA: Data Analytics Specialist at DataQuick Information Systems
We are currently seeking a dynamic individual for our open Data
Analytics Specialist position. As a member of the Data Analytics Team
and under the general supervision of the Data Analytics Team Leader,
this professional will extract, analyze, validate, quantify and
present data in an effort to derive new value from the DataQuick data
warehouse. This person will demonstrate proficiency in statistical and
quantitative analysis. He/she shall be required to learn and fully
understand the physical data structures and contents, and all related
metadata and business logic.
Responsibilities:
Perform data mining of property data that has business value in existing or new markets
- Derive new data value from DataQuick warehouse using statistical and quantitative methods utilizing SPSS or other statistical modeling tools, and GIS tools;
- Create and present analytical reports – both written and graphical;
- Create MSSQL queries to collect data;
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for data analytics;
- Ability to analyze, interpret, synthesize and present complex information;
- Experience in statistical and quantitative analysis;
- Ability to extract and mine data sets for analysis.
- Proficient with SPSS or similar statistical software package;
- Proficient with ArcView, ArcInfo or similar GIS software packages;
- Strong communication skills – written, verbal and graphical;
- Ability to effectively present technical findings to non-technical personnel;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, follow-through on both verbal and written instructions, and have the ability and flexibility to multi-task, prioritize, and organize multiple projects/tasks concurrently while meeting required deadlines;
- Experience working with very large databases (500+ GB);
- Experience working with MS Excel and Access databases;
- Working knowledge of RDBMS, including table structure and metadata;
- Working knowledge of database tools, preferably MSSQL Server;
- Working knowledge of data mining tools;
- Working knowledge of MS Office, including Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
- Working knowledge of real property and/or recorders data, procedures and terminology, preferably DataQuick’s data, or a proven ability to learn new types of data quickly and effectively; and
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics or similar research-oriented discipline or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in the data analytics discipline.Additional preferred skills for this position include:
- Knowledge of data development, data cleansing and data mining concepts; and
- Experience in one or more of the key DATAQUICK markets (Financial Services, Title, Real Estate, and Appraisal)
