Position Summary
We seek a person experienced in data
management in a highly analytical, data intensive environment. The
person filling this position will be responsible for organizing,
processing, cleaning, analyzing and QA around very large data sets in
a mostly flat file unix environment. The candidate will have
demonstrated skills in such data management and fundamental and
advanced statistics, as well as knowledge or experience in modeling
and data mining, and good organization and communication skills.
Principal Duties
- Responsible for the organization, layout, updating and QA of the analytics data library - a collection of very large, mostly flat files of account-level data spanning multiple industries and years.
- Regular processing of incoming client data: parsing, basic statistical analysis, field cleaning, QA, reformatting, organizing and then updating the library
- Domain-specific data interpretation and modification, such as processing of credit delinquencies, defaults, frauds etc.
- Design, fielding and monitoring of all QA algorithms and process reporting
- Working with the rest of the Analytics team in assembling data for ad hoc analysis data preparation for model building
- Helping on modeling and algorithm development as needed.
Qualification/Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent is required. PhD is preferred.
- Prior data management experience is required.
- Prior domain knowledge in financial and telecommunication data sets is desirable.
