Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop models for use in segmentation and targeting.
  • Apply statistical techniques and analytical abilities on large data sets.
  • Perform ad hoc analytical analysis to better understand customer sales.
  • Develop segmentation methodology for optimizing customer communications.
  • Apply analytical expertise to solve real-world business issues.
  • Prepare analytical findings and communication the results to internal and external clients.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience with a thorough understanding of multivariate statistical techniques.
  • 2+ years of experience applying multivariate regression, clustering and other data mining techniques to large-scale data sets.
  • The applicant should also have performed ad hoc data analysis, sampling, model validation, data cleansing and estimation preference to those with direct marketing or retail experience.
  • Segmentation using CHAID/CART and cluster analysis
  • 2+ years of direct use of SAS including writing macros.
  • Working with large relational databases such as Oracle, Sybase, or SQL.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills are required to interact with other areas, particularly Sales and Marketing.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics
  • A post-graduate degree in econometrics or statistics is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Unica and/or Cognos software
  • Experience working with credit bureau data
  • Retail Sku-level data
