The primary uses of DBMS see to be for storage, data exploration and pre-processing. Use of DBMS for model deployment and development is still not done by the majority of data miners.

• 58% used DBMS for storage
• 48% used DBMS for data exploration and pre-processing
• only 27% used DBMS for deploying models, and
• only 25% did not use DBMS at all.
