Ever searched for local information (Starbucks, Supercuts, etc...) and wish to see more comprehensive & relevant information close to you? Building software ('back-end' for Virtual Earth) to understand and answer these queries is our job. We are looking for a seasoned SDET who isn't daunted by massive databases, APIs with tight performance requirements, and aggressive release schedules. If that's you, please read on... Our mission is to help users find online information about real world places, people and events. Our charter is to be #1 with consumers and merchants, winning hands down over our competitors, Google & Yahoo. This is a killer opportunity to be a part of a team working on a key initiative for Search space and Microsoft overall. As an SDET on Local Search, you will have the opportunity to contribute to exciting projects like Content Extraction (Crawl) and Query Parsing (location detection, etc...) You will be responsible for the overall quality of the components you deliver. This includes, but isn't limited to, demonstrating exceptional technical aptitude, ensuring thorough test coverage of owned components, exerting influence on product direction, managing your schedule, working closely with dev/pm peers on fast-track release cycles, etc... Additional responsibilities include incorporating & improving QA processes to help us build in quality from the start, establishing exit criteria, and helping increase coordination both within our team and across other Search verticals. A qualified candidate should have QA experience with all stages of the product cycle. Experience with C#, .Net Framework and development tools are a strong plus, as are solid communication/ interpersonal skills. Requirements:
