The previous KDnuggets Poll asked:

SAS, Microsoft, and a number of universities currently offer a data mining certificate, which takes less time than a degree. If you do data mining, do you have such a certificate?

Only 11% of the respondents did have this certificate.

Among those who did not, about half said they did not need it because they had a degree in a DM related field.

The second most common reason was having enough DM experience.
