WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?

  • The position is a pricing role within the Countrywide Best Practices area of the Personal Lines Actuarial Department. The individual will work on all of the personal lines of business, including Homeowners, Auto, Personal umbrella, Dwelling Fire, and Earthquake, across The Hartford's multiple distribution channels.
  • The individual should work to establish strong relationships with Product Management, Research, and Pricing, as it is critical that information be shared among these groups.
  • The individual should be experienced with GLM analysis to continually enhance the pricing and price monitoring tools that we use in Personal Lines.
  • The individual will assist in developing GLM skills in other Personal Lines actuarial personnel.
  • The individual will be responsible for peer reviewing the pricing methodologies used and other actuarial work at The Hartford WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR? The workers compensation unit supports almost $2 billion of premium spanning Select Customer, Middle Market, and Specialty. this position works closely with product management and underwriting, particularly in the pricing of large accounts.
The candidate should possess the following qualifications:
  • FCAS or equivalent experience
  • GLM modeling experience preferred
  • Very strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to audiences of various levels and diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Computer skills - SQL or SAS, Emblem preferred
