Data Mining Manager
Data Mining Functions
- Manage day-to-day workflow and data mining projects conducted by assigned staff to ensuring maximum productivity in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Track and prioritize projects through coordination and negotiation with client to improve the efficiency of information/project plan generation
- Develop data mining approaches and ensure that these approaches are consistently applied to all data mining predictive analytics projects
- Coordinate with operations management and operations research and development teams to define and conduct data analysis projects.
- Evaluate potential projects and studies based on the value, cost benefit analysis and urgency of request
- Develop understanding of business processes, goal strategy in order to provide analysis and interpretation
- Manage and monitor the production workflow for analysts, screening production work
- Capture data, collaborate and put into a model, utilizing the model to prioritize and optimize portfolio
- Perform strategic data analysis and research to support business needs
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, MIS, Computer Science, or related field required.
- Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, MIS, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Minimum four years experience in statistics, industrial engineering, project management, or management consulting required.
- Minimum one year supervisory or lead experience required
- Minimum one year in collection industry preferred
- Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Required
- Knowledge of program languages (e.g., C++ C, etc.) preferred
- Knowledge of Databases (SQL, IBDB2, SAS, Enterprise Miner, Enterprise Guide, Etc.) preferred
