BriefsDIA Conference to Review Data Mining and Screening of Health-care DataHORSHAM, Pa., Oct. 16, 2008--Join an international group of experts to discuss best practices for optimizing the screening of healthcare data at the Drug Information Association's (DIA's) (www.diahome.org) Signal Detection and Data Mining: International Perspectives on Spontaneous Reports and Other Healthcare Data Sets , (November 19-20; Washington, DC). Data mining and screening of spontaneous reports have become increasingly important. Screening of other data sets such as insurance data and electronic patient reports has received much attention. A recent invitation-only PhRMA-funded meeting assessed the role of standard methods in the screening of spontaneous reports. With the anticipated release of CIOMS VIII, this meeting will build on these major initiatives.
