Job description: Booking.com values a highly pragmatic and entrepreneurial approach. Your primary focus is on predictive analytics and developing this area of expertise within the company from scratch together with the Director of Business Development. You and your team will collect and manage large data sets, analyze them for behavioral patterns and/or indicators, develop predictive models and implement insights. You will preferably be based in Amsterdam.

Personal skills:

• Pragmatic, entrepreneurial and hands on approach
• Intellectual curiosity and a passion to tackle what other people couldn't
• Ability to take complex or technical concepts and explain them to non-quant people
• English speaker

• Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Quantitative Marketing, Statistics, Math, Operations Research, Econometrics or any other related quantitative field;
• Specific experience and knowledge of techniques in data exploration and data mining: e.g. non-linear optimization, clustering, neural networks, text-mining etc.;
• Strong statistical programming skills in several modeling languages;
• Deep understanding of the statistical consequences of model fitting;
• Minimum of three years of experience in predictive analytics in a senior role, preferable within the retail, banking, insurance or travel industry
