10th April 2009 - New York, NY, Chennai India - LatentView Analytics (LatentView), a leading Predictive Analytics and Decision Management services firm, has launched SAS-2-pmml™, a FREE desktop application that generates PMML representations for SAS models.

PMML (Predictive Model Markup Language), an XML-based language developed by the Data Mining Group (DMG), provides a standard way to represent data mining models so that these can be shared easily across different business intelligence and statistical modeling packages, significantly enhancing the ease of implementation.

Representing SAS models in PMML form gives developers on the SAS Platform the flexibility to deploy models using a whole range of applications that can "consume" PMML files, thus broadening the choice of available deployment platforms, and helping users leverage the capabilities of their existing BI platform investments. SAS-2-pmml™ takes SAS model datasets (EST-type datasets containing the parameter estimates) as input, and generates a PMML file (conforming to the PMML v3.2 specification) corresponding to each model. The application can convert a variety of SAS regression models, developed using the REG and LOGISTIC procedures, to PMML files. The application is targeted at users of SASŪ v8/v9, which do not have built-in functionality to export models to PMML.
