My congratulations to newly elected officers, and many thanks to those who run and did not win this time - I expect that KDD will continue to benefit from your involvement and participation !

I will be glad not have the responsibility of the Chair, which I did for the last 4 years, and in some ways for 20 years (since I started the first KDD workshop in 1989).

However, I will continue to be involved in SIGKDD as past chair and the voting member of the Board of Directors, and certainly will continue to work to advance the field of KDD and data mining.

SIGKDD 2009 Election Results
There were 181 votes, which is only 15% of present SIGKDD members, but it is more (and higher percentage) than 148 members who voted in 2005 elections.
