Were helping people break free from search overload, and enabling them to make decisions with Bings powerful, friendly tools. Were attracting new users and changing how people think about Microsoft and search. We have a long road ahead, and we may need your help. One of the keys to our continued success in this hypercompetitive space is accurately instrumenting the Search experience in order to understand how users are engaging with the product. We are looking for a strong Program Manager who is passionate about collecting data on site usage and using that data to drive innovation in the user experience. As Instrumentation Program Manager on the Bing team, you will build a service to instrument the Search experience, and you will work closely with feature teams to develop measurement plans.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and operating an instrumentation service that will be utilized by many partner teams
  • Consulting with feature teams on instrumentation needs
  • Partnering with business and reporting teams to understand data
  • Driving quality into the data collection process
  • Designing tools to assist feature teams with instrumentation
  • Managing change control processes
  • Writing effective documentation
  • Participating in data mining activities and analysis of AB tests
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A background in online user behavior research including website log analysis
  • Experience with schema design
  • SQL database and reporting systems experience
  • Ability to work with large data sets
  • Excellent communication and cross group collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with search engines and web technologies is a plus
  • Degree in CS or related discipline
  • 7 years work experience shipping software within a collaborative environment
