Hi
I am working as a database programmer
and I am interested in getting a graduate degree either in data mining or Mathematics.
What Math course works will be helpful for laying the foundation of data mining?
-sincerely

Math can be beautiful in itself, but a high-level math course like algebra or calculus would not be useful to start in data mining.
Instead, I suggest a statistics course or a data mining course.
See free slides to my undergraduate course on data mining at

There are also a number of universities that offer courses in data mining
