Hi,
I'm looking for recommendations on data mining books. Ideally I'd like ones that discuss the core ideas of DM non-technically, suitable for business people without strong mathematical backgrounds. I'd also like referals on books that present the algorithms for some of the major DM procedures, such as classification trees.
Thanks very much.

Look at
Data Mining Techniques: For Marketing, Sales, and Customer Relationship Management (Paperback)
by Michael J. A. Berry, Gordon S. Linoff (2004)
and their earlier book
Mastering Data Mining: The Art and Science of Customer Relationship Management by Michael J. A. Berry and Gordon S. Linoff

Hi,
For the first book, I recommend Data Mining (by Witten and Frank). It is a very good overall introduction on data mining concepts for practitioners. Regarding the second choice, I suggest Introduction to Data Mining (by Tan et al.). It describes basic data mining algorithms with a maximum of text and minimum of formulas.
Hope it helps.
