Hi,

I got directed to this site from a question I posted:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14695138/how-to-group-nearby-latitude-and-longitude-locations-stored-in-sql

I would like simplify the dataset by ignoring isolated incidents and instead only showing clusters where more than one accident have taken place.

Any pointers would be great.

Cheers,
Rob.

can you try indexing the accidents by rounded latitude and longitude into "grid"-like structure and then just select the grid boxes with more accidents? You can use ROUND function in SQL and create intermediate tables.
