About Translations
The purpose of this poll was not to measure the popularity of all
languages, but only the interest of KDnuggets readers in 5 European
languages above for which the automated translation technology is
currently most
developed. Besides the 5 languages above, KDnuggets readers were interested
in translations to Chinese, Russian, Hindi, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, and
6 UN Languages (see www.un.org). Clearly, these languages are important, but
automated translation between English and these
languages is not yet well developed, as far as I know.

- Portuguese language is widely spoken all over the world. We understand English but not everything. I think it is important.

- I think that only Americans think that English is the universal language. I have travelled in many developed countries where English is not widely understood.
- English is the world language. Why bother with anything else? Eventually, everyone will speak English.
