- My recent informal research into data mining applications
indicates that roughly 50% of data mining work is being done on
marketing/customer behavior and (seperately) about 50% is in the money
business (combined banking, finance and insurance).
- No entry for non-profits or other fundraising
- Interesting results, difficult to interpret. Industry and application are mixed. Eg.: no way to tell % using for direct mail response modeling since banking, retail, telco resp. could all be using dm for this purpose. Suggest future poll.
- I am Data miner + Researcher+Software developer committed to apply data mining tools (both existing and the ones developed by me) to all the fields
