DATA625: Data Methods for Business Analytics
An introduction to Data Mining and the tools for optimizing the decision-making process. Topics include: Overview of Data Mining, Input: Concepts, instances and attributes, Output: Knowledge representation: tables, linear models, trees, classification and association rules, clustering, Basic Algorithms: Rudimentary rules, missing values and numeric attributes, Naive Bayes for classification, linear models, Instance-based learning, Credibility of Learning: Cross validation, bootstrap, predicting probabilities, counting the cost, and evaluating numeric prediction.
DATA667: Data Visualization and Statistical Simulation
An introduction to data cleaning, analysis and visualization. Developing management-level communication skills for presenting risk management recommendations based on complex data with hands-on exercises for taking raw data, extract meaningful information, use statistical tools, and making visual presentations.
