Hadoop was named after a toy elephant but it can help save real African Elephants. To help pay for the care, feeding, and rehabilitation of orphaned elephants, Datameer will donate 100% of proceeds from sales in November of its new $49 Charity Edition to Pro Wildlife.
Datameer Charity Edition to Help Save Orphaned Elephants
SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 1, 2013 - 82 elephants die every day because of poaching. This leaves behind a dozen of orphaned elephant young each week. To help pay for the care, feeding, and rehabilitation of these elephants back into the wild, Datameer will donate 100 percent of proceeds from sales of its new $49 Charity Edition to Pro Wildlife, a German-based charity dedicated to the conservation of wildlife, during the month of November.
Those interested in supporting the cause should visit www.datameer.com/save-the-elephants.
"With a yellow elephant as our logo and a projected $24 billion market value, we believe the Big Data and Hadoop Community can stand up and help the elephants," said Stefan Groschupf, CEO of Datameer.
The new Datameer Charity edition comes with Hadoop embedded and will allow a single user to integrate, analyze and visualize up to 10GB of any data type, size or source. Using the same simple point-and-click wizard for integration of more than 50 common data sources, familiar spreadsheet interface to build analytics, and blank canvas to drag-and-drop data visualizations, Datameer Charity Edition offers the same functionalities as the Datameer Personal edition.
