MassBigData launched to boost Massachusetts Big Data, Analytics Ecosystem

MassBigData has a wealth of information, including publicly available Mass data sets, local #BigData events, regional jobs (over 2300 currently), a map of MassBigData companies, resources, and much more.

MassBigData is a web portal, launched in January in Boston, which aims to bring together the Big Data community in Massachusetts and help drive increased awareness, learning, and business activity in the advanced analytics sector. is a project of the Massachusetts Big Data Initiative, launched by Governor Patrick to leverage and expand the Commonwealth's position as a global leader in the rapidly growing big data ecosystem.

The portal will support the Mass Big Data Initiative's efforts to drive growth in the regional big data ecosystem. The initiative focuses its efforts around four strategic areas:

  • Increasing public access to open government data sets;
  • Enhancing the skilled workforce through partnerships with academia and business;
  • Fueling collaborative innovation through data-driven events such as hackathons; and
  • Raising awareness of the sector through targeted outreach campaigns.
