A growing number of political campaigns, and marketing departments are adopting uplift modeling - also known as persuasion modeling and net lift modeling. This advanced technique identifies the individuals most likely to be positively influenced by a treatment. This is a step beyond standard traditional response modeling.

At Chicago's Predictive Analytics World for Business conference, June 20-23, 2016, and at New York’s PAW Business conference, uplift modeling will be covered in eight ways: across keynotes, sessions, and an article by PAW founder Eric Siegel.

  1. KEYNOTE: Persuasion Modeling in Presidential Campaigns and How It Applies to Business
Presented by Daniel Porter, Co-Founder, BlueLabs; former Director of Statistical Modeling, Obama for America

Daniel will discuss his experience using the results from a large-scale, randomized, controlled experiment that targeted persuadable voters for the Obama Campaign, i.e. persuasion modeling, aka uplift modeling. He will also focus on methodological advances that have been made since 2012, how these techniques lead to more precise insights than ever, and how they can be used to drive broader strategic decisions in addition to narrower tactical choices. Learn more.

  2. SESSION: Evaluate A Marketing Campaign's Success Using Uplift Modeling - Case Study: A Top 20 US Bank
Presented by Karan Bhalla, Managing Director, IQR Consulting

In this session, we discuss uplift models (aka, net lift models) that attack an important weakness of the traditional approach. Uplift models help determine the characteristics of customers who actually require an incentive to act thereby saving efforts and costs to target customers who have already planned to purchase irrespective of the incentive.
