Once the cornerstone for the Rocky Mountain gold rush, this spring, Denver will serve as the setting for an entirely new group of adventurers, those pursuing the latest groundbreaking applications of analytics at the 2020 INFORMS Business Analytics Conference.

From April 26-28, more than 1,000 leading analytics professionals and industry experts will gather in Denver to explore the newest mathematical solutions to some of industry’s largest challenges. Hosted by INFORMS, the leading international association for analytics professionals, this year’s conference will feature a wealth of information and opportunity, including more than 150 data-based talks from leading analytics experts, reflecting the latest research and applications for analytics in real-world settings.

Conference tracks cover a wide range of topics, including revenue management and pricing, supply chain, analytics leadership, decision and risk analysis, and analytics in the public sector. Heading up the conference program are two plenary talks, delivered by experts in the field who have made significant contributions to some of the most progressive applications of analytics currently in use.

Dr. Kate Darling, INFORMS Roundtable-sponsored plenary speaker, is the leading expert in social robotics and MIT Media Lab Research Specialist. She conducts research on robot ethics, in particular human-robot interactions. Her work to understand the emotional connections between people and life-like robots not only influences technology design but informs policymakers as they address this evolving relationship.

Bill Franks, Chief Analytics Officer for The International Institute for Analytics (IIA), has been named a top global big data and artificial intelligence influencer, and has worked for clients across a variety of industries, including Fortune 500 companies.

In addition to the full conference program, attendees will have the opportunity to make connections with representatives from leading analytics programs in a variety of industries. At the Analytics Career Fair, attendees can share resumes with top companies hiring analytics professionals, and schedule discreet one-on-one interviews.

The conference culminates in the Edelman Gala celebration, where finalists for top INFORMS awards, including the Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Advanced Analytics, Operations Research, and Management Science, are recognized for their outstanding contributions to the field of analytics. This year’s Edelman Award finalists include Amazon.com, Carnival Corporation &plc, Deutsche Bahn, IBM, Intel, and Walmart.
