Decision management is also fundamental to operationalizing analytics – that is, ensuring you have the ability to leverage any of these insights at the right time, and in the right place, when and where your business needs it. This means going deeper into the consideration of how data, analytics, optimization and decision rules (among other capabilities) connect and fit together when they’re needed.
We thought a little quiz might be useful to help you understand these “operationalizing analytics” concepts (for lack of a better term). So below, all you need to decide is which term fits with each description. Answers are below; please don’t cheat (although nobody will catch you)!

If you got all six right, consider yourself advanced enough to apply decision management across one or multiple of your business areas! Now, you just need others to catch up.
If you answered four or five correctly, you’re probably still working on that first tea or coffee before diving into that new model development. Hey, we’re not all perfect, are we?
If you answered two or three correctly, you probably are multitasking, or just taking wild guesses, or just don’t care. In either case, at least we got your attention – and you just find this useful later in your business’s transformation (or if you manager’s manager starts to get on a “work different” kick!).
If you answered zero or one correctly, don’t be too hard on yourself. Heuristic approaches probably aren’t your thing either. But, hey, you can always try an AI-based approach next time!
Answers: A-5; B-4; C-3; D-1; E-6; F-2
Here’s the link to Benjamin's Operationalizing Analytics post (which should explain the answers).
