The College of Staten Island (CSI), a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY), seeks applicants for appointment for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Computer Science. This position is scheduled to begin in September 2015. All areas of modern Computer Science will be considered.

Applicants should be leading figures in the field, with nationally recognized scholarly achievements, and with experience leading a group of research associates. The position offers a unique opportunity to create and lead a core research group with a number of additional tenure-track positions available in the near future. This position is for Full Professor rank, however, outstanding candidates may be considered for Distinguished Professor rank. Applicants should demonstrate a successful teaching record, exceptional research productivity through solid, peer-reviewed publications, and have experience initiating research projects.

The College of Staten Island participates in the doctoral programs of The City University Graduate School and University Centers in: Biology (Neuroscience), Computer Science, Physics, Physical Therapy, Polymer Chemistry and Psychology (Learning Processes). Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related discipline is required. The successful candidate will be expected to help establish a research program in collaboration with CUNY's High Performance Computing Center, which is located on the CSI campus. The chosen candidate shall recognize his/her shared responsibility for departmental and college service and will cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
