The Data Mining Department is a fast paced forward thinking team where our goal is to provide timely informational reporting, statistical tests, and statistical modeling to all business areas to assist in their short term and long term decision making.
The Statistician is responsible for all of the steps in a statistical analysis or modeling effort. This starts with talking with our requestors to understand their question and translate it into mathematical or statistical terms. This includes eliciting factors and variables that could influence the subject being studied. The statistician spends considerable time working with the data. This typically involves writing SAS programs to assemble internal and external data, do data quality checks, transforming variables, and constructing the dataset used for the analysis.
The statistician would use SAS to execute the statistical plan, evaluate the goodness of the model, perform a variety of ad hoc explorations to understand the implication of the model or analysis, and communicate back the findings. We are looking for candidates that have worked with multivariate linear and logistic regressions, hypothesis testing, and confidence intervals as well as exploratory data analysis. Knowledge about complex survey analysis and optimization techniques is a plus. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and have experience in giving both formal and informal presentations involving statistical topics.
