Sabre Research is seeking an quantitative analyst specializing in social media, text mining, big data, and semantic search to perform studies and build proof-of-concept models and systems for travel distribution.
Conduct analyses and develop models to support Sabre travel distribution (both for Sabre agencies and for Travelocity). The successful candidate will interact with marketing staff (to interactively decide on requirements), developers, management, and clients to understand current data, develop a plan for future data (especially with Hadoop), and visualize results. This is very "hands-on" position, dealing with data that has not been stored to date, but which requires advanced statistical and computational models to extract valuable insights.

Extensive programming experience is required, especially with Hadoop/MapReduce (including Pig Latin and Hive), Mahout, R, Python, Java. Knowledge of SQL and SAS is highly desirable.
The position requires strong communication skills, both to document the models developed and explain the ideas to marketing, product development, and senior management.
