Do you have what it takes to inspire some of the brightest data scientists and product experts to build LifeLock's next multi-million dollar product?

The right candidate will have a combination of advanced statistical analysis skills and an interest in driving business impact through actionable analytic insight. He/she should be able to independently run analytic projects and help our internal clients use the findings to drive their business. Conduct analysis and modeling - in the areas of text mining, sentiment analysis, forecasting and simulation. Perform exploratory data analysis; build predictive models and comfortably utilize various external and internal data sources to deliver insights for our clients.

Have a passion for teaching internal groups on topics like: visualization, data mining and other analytic techniques. We're looking for a superb analytical leader with business and operational savvy, someone who is extremely intelligent and has a quantitative background. This leadership position will have you partnering with product executives to utilize LifeLock's data to take our product suite to the next level. We are looking for a professional with the following key traits:

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • A strong understanding of machine learning theory.
  • A principled approach to solving algorithmic problems with a focus on what will make users happy.
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting, and optimization algorithms
  • Substantial experience in analyzing online user behavior to generate insights about user experience, business opportunities, and product strategies
  • Familiarity with applying data mining techniques (i.e. supervised, semi-supervised, and unsupervised, sentiment analysis through text mining, time series forecasting, Simulation and system modeling), statistics and information retrieval methods to real-world data
  • Recruit excellent talent to support the mission of the team as the business continues growing.
  • A pragmatic approach to rapidly evaluating new algorithmic ideas.
  • A very high attention to detail and ability to thoroughly think through problems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills on both technical and non-technical topics.
  • Ability to understand business problems from a high level, direct the team to tackle strategic solutions using advanced analytics and data insights
  • Ability to collaborate with partners and drive analytic projects end to end

Preferred Qualifications

  • Web analytics experience - highly desirable
  • Experience solving problems with big data
  • Experience presenting at industry and/or academic conferences

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering, etc.)
  • 6+ experience with various data analysis tools, data mining tools, and statistical packages (e.g., SAS, MATLAB, R, SPSS, Weka, etc.)
  • 2+ years commercial machine learning experience (not necessarily in a production engineering role).
  • Mid-level programming experience. You do not have to be able to write highly scalable production code (you will be working with engineers who can do that) but you do need to be able to build prototypes and be able to understand the existing code base. Python, Java or C++ experience is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with relational databases (SQL) and non-relational databases (Hadoop/pig)
  • Experience in information retrieval and data analytics (e.g. data classification, text mining, map reduce, search algorithms, etc.)
  • Must be a hands-on implementer
  • Solid understanding of accessing data (e.g., SQL) and scripting (e.g., shell scripting, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interact and understand technical subjects/emerging technologies and their relevance to the marketplace.
  • Communicate effectively to senior executives internally and externally, both technical and non-technical audience.
  • Above all else must be data driven.
