Job description

  • Utilizes advanced functionality of Microsoft Office SQL, VBA, SAS and/or Business Objects for data mining and automation. Extracts and houses data from internal Paychex systems.
  • Explores, validates, and maintains data used for model development and results reporting related to Sales, Field Operations, Enterprise Risk Management or any ad hoc reporting needs of the company.
  • Explores and gathers external data, analyzes data and develops reporting systems, including both public and private sectors, to complement internal company data and reporting related to Sales, Field Operations, Enterprise Risk Management or any ad hoc reporting needs of the company.
  • Conducts quantitative research projects by identifying the business problem, conducting data exploration, modeling analysis and communication of final results to Enterprise Risk Management leadership and other interested parties.
  • Shares knowledge within the Modeling and Analytics Group for cross training and development purposes.
  • Works with business partners during model development to understand all aspects of the business, from understanding business issues/ priorities to analytically solving these business issues/ priorities.
  • Develops and implements scorecards/data driven predictive models covering different areas of the company including Enterprise Risk Management, Marketing, Sales and Field Operations, among others, monitoring business trends, assessing patterns and bringing issues to the attention of the appropriate functional groups.

A minimum of 4 years of experience is required. A bachelors degree is preferred. Consideration may be given to a candidate with a degree in lieu of experience. Qualified candidates must have a high level of proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access. Experience with SQL, VBA or Business Objects is strongly preferred. Basic knowledge of SAS, Mat Lab, SPSS or other comparable tools is also preferred. Qualified candidates must be able to communicate in a concise and clear manner.
