The emergence of big data is creating an opportunity to join a start-up organization and develop platforms that turn big data into big insights with tremendous value. As Lead Product Development Engineer, you will work closely with the Director of Product Development to lead all aspects of systems architecture design, technical implementation and product deployment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review the product architecture and technical design for ability to support product requirements, ongoing maintainability of product
  • Develop infrastructure and architecture capabilities assessment to inform build or buy decisions
  • Participate in QA sessions as an expert and help the QA teams and deployment teams to better assess potential problems and needs
  • Develop product User Acceptance strategy and collaborate with IT to execute User Acceptance Tests based on product scenarios
  • Review and track IT plans and associated key milestones for CIP product platform build, integration and deployment using appropriate tools for the task
  • Develop executive management updates for IT progress and key issues, risks and mitigations

 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of senior management experience in product development, QA, testing, and product deployment in big data platforms
  • Working with Big Data technologies MAPR, PIG, MAHOUT, CHUKWA, FLUME, HBASE/HDFS/Cassandra, SQIVE, HOOP (for semi-structured, unstructured content)
  • Hadoop stack-modeling, collection, development, file structure, and data management
  • Previous experience working in a high-growth tech environment
  • Deep knowledge of Big Data platforms, Agile techniques
  • Knowledge of development platforms like Jira, Rally, etc. as well as experience with continuous integration and deployment environments (Jenkins, teamcity, etc.)

 
Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in big data product development in fast-paced environments
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline; advanced degree in any technical field a plus
