The emergence of big data is creating an opportunity to join a start-up organization and develop platforms that turn big data into big insights with tremendous value. As Lead product Development Manager for algorithms and insights, you will work closely with the Director of Product Development to lead all aspects of advanced analytics, novel algorithms, interactions with scientific teams currently working on product definitions, etc. for all products being developed by the Consumer Insights Platform / Big Data team. These product lines are cutting edge applications intended to monetize AT&T's data assets and are critical to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Passion and drive to conceive the inconceivable
  • Motivation to collaborate with a diverse, innovative team
  • Working with Big Data technologies MAPR, PIG, MAHOUT, CHUKWA, FLUME, HBASE/HDFS/Cassandra, SQIVE, HOOP (for semi-structured, unstructured content)
  • Hadoop stack-modeling, collection, development, file structure, and data management
  • Conceiving new data analytical and insight-generating methods for high volumes of data
  • Ability to work with the Centers of Excellence, and Data Scientists to build tools, and propose new algorithms and methods, while converting the underlying business requirements to new data products

 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in product innovation and data-driven insights generation
  • Passion and drive to conceive the inconceivable
  • Fearless to question the 'unquestionable'
  • Motivation to collaborate with a diverse, innovative team
  • Previous experience working in a high-growth tech environment
  • Knowledge of analytics, machine learning, statistics in real-world big data applications
  • Familiarity with Big Data analytical tools, environments, and lingo

 
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline; MSC / Advanced degree
  • Industry expertise in retail (big box, grocery, other), Telcos, or other high-volume data-producing company
  • Experience in communicating complex ideas to audiences in a simple way
  • Experience in interacting with data scientists and software developers
