Job description
  • Leads efforts to plan, design strategy, build, deploy and monitor predictive models to ensure revenue opportunities are leveraged, mitigate bottom line risks, and ensure risk-related issues within Risk Management are able to be managed.
  • Leads deployment of the Paychex | IHS Small Business Jobs Index each month, partnering with third-party economists to analyze results, publish findings, and develop further Index opportunities.
  • Consults with senior management and peers across the enterprise in the area of model development, while identifying ongoing opportunities for model usage to assist in enhancing growth.
  • Advocates for Paychex as a thought leader in the Big Data space, through internal presentations and industry conferences domestically and abroad.
  • Leads data-monetization initiatives, identifying opportunities to develop and grow this revenue stream.
  • Leads data-mining personnel to deliver reporting and analysis of key risk indicators on a weekly, monthly, and ad hoc basis, identifying potential situations for risk mitigation decision making.
  • Monitors the integrity of reported statistics related to risk processes. Oversees the creation of automated processes for collection of information.
  • Provides support and direction to ongoing research and development of processes and policies related to the selection and use of data to ensure data is sufficient and used appropriately.
  • Strategically leads efforts to gather teams of cross-functional peers in the independent evaluation of risk and opportunities to reduce or eliminate risk and leverage rewards throughout the company.
  • Develops and maintains review-infrastructure to prioritize efforts within the review model.
  • Guides peer review fieldwork sessions to ensure highly-valued outcomes are identified.
  • Oversees the consolidation of the review team's research and the arrangement of key data within final reports to ensure accuracy of all published content.
  • Follows up with various business areas on the status of proposed recommendations. Develops and prepares quarterly reporting, and facilitates review meetings with Senior Management to ensure recommendations are implemented effectively within the set parameters.
  • Recruits, selects, hires and evaluates performance of personnel to ensure departmental needs are handled appropriately. Counsels and develops staff for personal and corporate advancement through career development, training programs and other resources as required for professional advancement.
  • Trains staff on product changes, Risk Management, and Risk Analytics processes to ensure staff is fully trained and knowledge is current.

 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience is required (BA/BS degree in Management, Finance, or Accounting or Masters or doctoral degree in a related field preferred).
  • Consideration may be given to a candidate with a degree in lieu of experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of leadership experience is required.
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and negotiate adversity required.
  • Statistical program knowledge (i.e.: SAS or advanced use of data base programs) and/or CPA is preferred.
