Experian UK&I R&D Data Lab has been created with the desire to work in collaboration with Experian's business units to enhance relationships with clients and acquire strategic datasets. The UK&I R&D Data Lab supports all business lines of Experian in the UK&I, including Credit Services, Marketing Service, Decision Analytics and Consumer Services.

The Role:
You will be leading, managing and developing the technical team concentrating on new data asset evaluation and acquisition as well as new product development. You will have a proven track record in managing highly productive analytical teams to develop world class analytical solutions for financial industry, telecommunication, insurance, healthcare and public sectors in risk management, marketing and fraud prevention.

We are looking for extensive experience in applying, modifying and inventing advanced innovative algorithms to solve difficult business problems. You will be skilled at, and enjoy, communicating across business lines and with clients and partners. We need a strong team player that is capable of driving collaboration and knowledge sharing among regional labs and business units.

Key Deliverables:

We are looking for an individual with a blend of strong leadership skills, commercial acumen and deep analytical knowledge to:
  • Work closely with business leaders to define and to execute on the data strategy for Experian UK&I businesses
  • Build the strategy for your team based on the direction of Experian Business Leaders and take accountability for high quality and timely delivery
  • Develop a close working relationship with the Global Chief Scientist of Experian Data Labs and North American Data Lab team
  • Drive innovation in advanced analytics and data management
  • Solve challenging business problems and develop new products by leveraging new data asset and advanced analytics
  • Attract, retain and develop industry leading talent
  • Build strong connections with all Experian Data Labs and across the global analytics community to ensure we are fully exploiting our data assets and expertise
  • Be the expert and keep abreast of the latest development in Analytics and Data Management

What you will need:
  • Significant experience of leadership and solution delivery in the field of Data Analytics
  • A strong track record of generating revenue from analytical solutions
  • Extensive experience developing algorithms and building predictive models
  • A good knowledge of the technologies required for managing large data sets and developing advanced analytical solutions, including Hadoop, Python, C++, Java , R, Matlab and generally experienced in the use of open source technologies
  • Broad experience in developing world class analytical solutions for risk management, marketing, fraud detection and customer management
  • Experience of identifying and quantifying investment opportunities in new data asset and analytical solutions
  • Demonstrable influencing skills at a senior level both internally and with clients to articulate the vision and value of Lab solutions
  • Advanced degree in machine learning, computer science, operational research, signal processing, mathematics or statistics
  • Significant experience in developing advanced analytical solutions
