Modern Analytics: Senior Analytics Consultant


This full-time consulting role provides thought leadership and hands-on support for day-to-day analytic operations to key clients. San Diego, CA.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support existing and develop improved advanced statistical models to drive business including core valuation processes
  • Optimize existing analytic processes to increase completion speed and efficiency of team
  • Develop upfront visit and impression forecasts and in-year updates
  • Traffic and impression performance reporting, sales insights, and analysis to support Financial reporting
  • Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal and work assignments of personnel.
  • Up to 3 days/week in Orange County with remaining time in San Diego or remote
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 
Qualifications
  • Must have at least 10 years' experience performing advanced quantitative analyses.
  • Strong background building and leading advanced analytic teams.
  • Ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret terabytes of data. Ability to organize findings and translate into actionable insights using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to apply advanced statistical methodologies such as mixed model (random and fixed effects), simultaneous equations, time series based methods (ARIMA, Causal Autoregressive Mixed Models), neural networks, and multinomial discrete choice. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as cluster analytics, sampling theory and design of experiments, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and factor analysis.
  • Utilize complex computer operations (intermediate programming in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating systems) and advanced features of software packages (word-processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.).
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in Statistical Software (e.g. SAS, SPSS) and database applications.
  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Utilize complex computer operations (intermediate programming in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating systems) and advanced features of software packages (word-processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of SAS and relational database skills
  • Adobe suite of products and services
  • Micro strategies or similar reporting and analytic software
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
