The Apple Online Store (AOS) is seeking an experienced analytics professional to join the Worldwide Online Store Customer Insights team. This individual will provide design of experiment, statistical validation and back-end analytics for multivariate testing programs for the Apple Online Store. The Multivariate Testing Analyst will be a member of the Customer Experience group and will strongly partner with the Marketing, Site Management and the Engineering teams.

Key Qualifications:
  • Expert competence in SQL or comparable languages for manipulating and analyzing clickstream data from large websites. Teradata experience preferred.
  • Expert level competence in a leading testing suite such as Adobe Test & Target, Optimizely. Experience with Optimizely highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert in both bivariate (A/B) and multivariate experimental design principles.
  • Expert competence in hypothesis testing and application of ANOVA and Regression.
  • Professional competence in one or more tools such as SAS,SPSS or R for statistical analysis.
  • Excellent working knowledge of html.

Profile Description
An experienced web analytics professional with at least 3 years executing and managing A/B or multivariate testing projects. A goal-oriented individual with a passion for solving complex business and analytics problems who can excel in a team environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Quantify and analyze online multivariate testing outcomes through the expert integration of clickstream, web service testing and transactional data
  • Oversee QA to ensure correct capture of experiment values into clickstream data mart.
  • Develop, propose and implement Design of Experiment (DoE) structures for investigating and answering business questions through multivariate online testing.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting on test results, including selection of ANOVA and Applied regression techniques as determined to be suitable for the individual test situation.
  • Continuously track the business and technical requirements of the experimentation system; enhance testing processes continuously to meet business needs. Make recommendations to systems development teams for system enhancements.
  • Investigate and propose online testing opportunities designed to deliver insights into program effectiveness.
  • Create BRDs for permanent reporting to be handed off to systems development teams.
  • Make recommendations regarding third-party tools that could add value to these processes.

  • Minimum requirements - B.S. in Computer Sciences, Quantitative Methods or Statistics with 5+ years experience applying statistical and/or data mining techniques to real business problems using the required technical skills.
  • Preferred - M.S. in Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Social Sciences or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
