Key Qualifications:
  • 5+ years software engineering and scientific experience.
  • Experience with Java and Python and Big Data. Experience with Hadoop a plus.
  • Prior ad network, Big Data or analytics experience, operations research or similar.
  • Proficiency with databases, SQL, and scripting languages.
  • Experience in data mining, data matching, machine learning, statistical techniques, experimental design, or optimization.
  • Experience in extracting and manipulating extremely large datasets.
  • Practical understanding of the mathematics behind modern machine learning, linear algebra and statistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical techniques to solve real problems.
  • Experience with data analysis, business intelligence and statistical tools (e.g. R, SAS, or SPSS). Analytical thinker.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team to research innovative solutions to challenging business/technical problems.
  • Attention to detail, data accuracy and quality of output.
  • Results oriented and deadline driven.

 
Description:
Our team develops and applies advanced techniques and algorithms to improve an ad network. In this role you will be developing and implementing ad algorithms, yield optimization solutions and network data processes within an ad network. This position also involves developing a deep understanding of the ad network behavior; detecting relevant data patterns; assuring the integrity and breadth of the data; measuring user, campaign and app performance; and finally analyzing the results of extremely large-scale experiments. You will take an idea from conception and experimentation to design and implementation to deployment and analysis.

Education:
Masters or PhD in engineering, data mining, statistics, operations research, math, physics, economics or equivalent required.

Additional Requirements:
  • Implementation of new ad network algorithms and systems in Python and Java.
  • Propose, design and analyze new algorithms to improve the network and support new product features.
  • Development, research, and exploration in the areas of statistics, machine learning, experimental design, and operations research.
  • Research and analysis of algorithms and methods for optimizing ad relevance and performance.
  • Research and design of experiments to evaluate different algorithms' impact on the network.
  • Work with various other team members including data analyst, business owners, engineering, product management, and trafficking.
