General Description:
Working under the guidance and direction of the Customer and Market Insight Manager, the Market Analytics / Predictive Modeling Specialist will be responsible for producing meaningful, relevant marketing information and data for Chubb's commercial field and home office stakeholders.

This individual will produce analytics to enable our field staff to more effectively set and execute strategic plans within their territory, by providing timely market intelligence. They will be expected to integrate data from multiple disparate sources and obtain knowledge of all internal and external data sources used. This person will need to deeply understand business requirements and processes and translate them into meaningful market intelligence at a segment, product, or local geographic level.

The Market Analytics / Predictive Modeling Specialist will also design, develop and deploy predictive models and advanced analytics to optimize marketing activities. This individual will utilize advanced modeling techniques and tools to efficiently identify targets for new and organic growth, and collaborate with commercial actuarial departments to align their modeling efforts with that of marketing. He/She needs to be able to work independently and as a member of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Produces segment, product, and local market opportunity analytics
  • Assists with the creation of customer, distribution, and market segmentation
  • Assesses distribution performance
  • Prepares data for analysis
  • Consolidate customer information from internal and external data sources to better understand purchase patterns
  • Conducts analysis to assess the applicability of data findings in relation to business objectives
  • Analyzes data for trends, comparing results across a variety of groups, locations, and/or lines of business
  • Design and implementation of marketing predictive models
  • Improve sales and marketing productivity by qualifying opportunities and presenting these in an easy to use fashion
  • Creates effective summary reports for metrics, including preliminary observations

 
Competencies:
  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience using business intelligence tools and techniques
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel, Access, and Cognos business intelligence suite
  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience using statistical analysis techniques and building predictive models
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using SAS Statistical and modeling software, and SAS Programming, certified SAS programmer a plus
  • Solid working knowledge of the financial/insurance industry
  • Ability to form hypotheses and conclusions from limited information (critical thinking, problem solving)
  • Able to develop an in-depth understanding of the Chubb business and the business objectives related to specific projects
  • Communicates complex ideas in easy to understand business terms
  • Self-confident and objective
  • Process-oriented, including ability to execute and prioritize a number of tasks simultaneously
  • Dedication to quality of work product
  • Effective collaboration skills/team player
