The Digital Media Consultant will work within IRI's recently established Media Center of Excellence. This team focuses on providing comprehensive insights, specifically analyzing the impact of digital and other media on CPG shopping and product purchasing. The big picture function of this role is to analyze and interpret media and digital data trends/patterns and translate them into meaningful solutions for clients. Additional responsibilities include:

The Digital Media Consultant will occupy a cross-functional organizational position in which he/she will "own" the operational and delivery aspects of large-scale automated analytics offerings at IRI's largest and most analytically-savvy clients. This position entails the management, delivery, and implementation of IRI's automated analytic Advantage software products and ad-hoc analytic deliveries.

While exceptional project management skills are essential, the success will require the application of skills far beyond project management. He/she will be charged with working with internal team members to define what is within and outside of the solution scope and deliver accordingly. The Consultant will not play the role of a sales lead, but will consultatively manage solution enhancements/variations in a way to assure maximum solution revenue and profitability.

The Consultant, will work with a team in a highly matrixed organization. Key points of internal interface will include: Practice Area client delivery, The Technology Group, Insights, Product and Project Management, our modeling team in Athens Greece (ACE) and our team at our Global Operations Center in Bangalore, India.

Pre-implementation, the Consultant will ultimately be tasked with reviewing the contract deliverables, data preparation, and data integration of various data sources to be delivered to the automated analytic tool platform. He/she will be the lead contact for Liquid Modeling data preparation processes.

Post-implementation, the Consultant will work with IRI client teams to ensure the data delivered is accurate and displayed accordingly within the analytic software. He/she will also maintain a client delivery timeline and oversee the deliverables to ensure all data is delivered efficiently and on time.

The Consultant can expect to spend approximately 95% of their time substantively working directly with internal teams and required travel is up to 5% of the time. While it is desired to possess strong analytic acumen, this is not a hands-on modeling role.

Key Position Requirements include:
  • At least 7 years of Functional experience in two or more of the following areas:
    • Overall accountability for data development/implementation of specific programs, and/or production application systems
    • Ability to work with large data sets of at least one gigabyte in size or a million records in the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry.
    • Experience building systems such as "decision support systems"; i.e. analytics which fuel an application which guides managers in making business decisions.
    • Project management
    • Account Management
    • Familiarity with CPG POS data: InfoScan and ILD (IRI) data, Nielsen data

  • Technical foundation to include two or more of the following:
    • SAS programming
    • Oracle PCExpress
    • RDBMS: SQL Server, Oracle 8x +, MS Access
    • Perl
    • UNIX  
    • Advanced MS Excel skills

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously against tight deadlines.
  • Brilliant project management skills.
  • Able to maintain focus in highly-charged environments and manage competing priorities.
  • A passion for innovation and process improvement.
  • Exceptional/demonstrable project management skills.
  • Ability to self-prioritize and delegate tasks.
  • BS or BA degree from an accredited institution. An advanced degree is a plus
