General Description:
The Senior Positional Analytics Specialist is a world-wide role focused on identifying and leading the integration of data sources that improve underwriting, pricing, service and appraisal functions.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains an industry awareness of new developments in analytics techniques and tools, and ensures effective execution for their use within the department
  • Leverages advanced technical skills to mine large datasets, and returns actionable insights to business partners
  • Researches and tracks the available data sources in the market
  • Analyzes data sources and determines the potential impact of integrating the data
  • Keeps current with Chubb's use of positional data and identifies opportunities to improve processes or analysis, including:
    • catastrophe models;
    • acquisition models;
    • appraisal methods;
    • pricing and products;
    • underwriting guidelines;
    • service centers; and
    • mapping technology.

  • Communicates and presents project information to project team as well as providing presentations/ updates to senior management.
  • Manage projects from inception to execution, including project requirements gathering, consulting with Actuarial and Modeling on developing or improving existing models, using analysis to find trends and predictive characteristics, design reports and work with the team or IT to automate reports and improve analytical tools.
  • Works closely with both Actuarial and Product Managers throughout the process, assuring maximized outcomes and continued strategic alignment.

  • Five or more years in insurance
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Data mining experience
  • Knowledgeable on insurance pricing and underwriting
  • Familiarity with catastrophe models
  • Familiarity with data sources and vendors
  • Collaboration

  • Exceptional level of communication (verbal and written) both internally and externally
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power Point skills
  • Experience with SAS preferred
